ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sunday Morning Schedule

We are now on our summer Worship as One schedule. We will worship together every Sunday at 10am through Labor Day weekend, August 31, and we will alternate worship spaces. This Sunday, August 10, we will worship in the fellowship hall. Richard Floyd will preach this Sunday.

Summer Saints

Join us through August at 9am on Sunday mornings in the parlor. We will be discussing how to expand our spiritual lives using Fat Soul by Patricia Adams Farmer. Reading the book is not required, and all are welcome at any time.

Summer Giving

As folks travel for the summer, it’s not unusual to see a dip in giving. But the church’s doors remain open, and our ministries continue as we continue to help people in need throughout our community. We hope you will remember FPC over the dog days of summer! As always, thank you for your ongoing and generous support.

Knitwits & Happy Hookers

This group meets on Tuesdays at 12:30pm in the parlor to knit, crochet, pray, and have fellowship. They welcome everyone, whether experienced or new at these crafts, to join them as they provide prayer shawls and other items for our congregation, friends, and community.

Worship Art

We would love to see any artwork that our youth or children create during worship. Please send it to Beth. We may share some of these wonderful creations on our social media accounts.

Worship Flowers

Flowers make our two worship spaces even more beautiful, and you can provide them in honor or memory of a loved one. Look at the sign up  and choose a date that is special to you.

New Remote Locking System

We now have a keyless entry system on most of the doors into our main church/admin building. Your church keys will still work for now, but our plan is to operate with pre-set times for our doors to lock and unlock. Please make sure your events at church are on thechurch calendar. Contact Sarah (sarah@hickoryfpc.org) or Beth (beth@hickoryfpc.org) to add anything to the church schedule.

YMCA Yoga at FPC

The Hickory YMCA is undergoing major construction and will be holding yoga classes in our high school room beginning this week. They have graciously offered free classes to our members age 13 and above while they are using our space. Click here for more information and a schedule.

Punch on the Patio

Punch on the Patio has moved to the Welcome Area for the remainder of the summer! We will have treats and fellowship after worship through Labor Day weekend. We encourage you to enjoy the indoor and outdoor spaces in that area.

Mark Your Calendars

Make plans to be at worship on Sunday, August 17. We’ll have our annual Blessing of the Backpacks as well as a fellowship event, “Stuff on a Stick,” immediately following worship. More details coming soon!

Realm Update

We invite you to sign up for Realm, our new church database that will allow you to have access to our online directory. Please know Realm is still new to us, and the online directory is now live. Please contact Beth Taylor (beth@hickoryfpc.org) if you need help signing up or have questions.
